Lindell- Two Baths, One 1925 Home
In this project we remodeled two bathrooms in a 1925 home. In the primary bath, we went bold: a black Marquina marble, washstand with unlacquered brass legs, paired with brass cross-handle fixtures and a pair of sculptural arched mirrors. The black marble carries into the shower, framed in thin brass reveal strips against a wall of Carrara subway tile — a quiet nod to the home's original bones. Underfoot, a black-and-white mosaic pulls the whole palette together.
Down the hall, the secondary bath takes a softer, more classic turn. Crisp white subway tile with a black cap and base sets the stage for a rich, plum-toned marble vanity top and an antiqued brass oval mirror with old-world detailing. In the tub surround, a dramatic Viola-style marble — installed with a fluted, ribbed texture — brings movement and warmth to the space, finished with a polished brass exposed shower system.
Together, the two spaces show how the same architectural language — brass, marble, black-and-white can flex from moody and dramatic to bright and timeless, all while staying true to the character of the original house.
